October 24, 2025 | Beaver Tailwater Fishing Report

The leaves are turning, our trout are putting on their beautiful fall colors and big fish are starting to show up in places we don't normally see them. A little generation wouldn't hurt the situation, but the fishing is strong and we are putting lots of fish in the net.

Beaver Tailwater Levels & Conditions

Beaver Lake is currently holding steady at 1119.89 feet, similar to last week. This puts it below power pool and generation is only occurring to meet power demand. With our mild temperatures right now, the generation has been non-existent. The last push of water we got was last Wednesday evening. The water still has some color to if from last weeks rain below Parker Bottoms, but is clean above there. I haven't been venturing upstream too far, but made a run up this week and was pleasantly surprised with the water being much more clear. Again - there is some stain, below Parker Bottoms but the fish are still eating. A little generation would go a long way in pushing out some of the dirty water, and helping out with some dissolved oxygen in the water.

SWPA - if you're reading this....we'd all love a couple hours a day!!

What's Working

The bite has been pretty solid this week, but I've made a few changes to what I'm doing considering the conditions we are currently facing. Below Parker Bottoms, I'm fishing a little brighter and a little larger than I normally would to help my flies get noticed in the stained water. Eggs have produced well and are great attractors to put in your rig. The same goes with San Juan Worms in pink. Below the attractor, I'm picking up lots of fish on Perdigons and Ruby Midges, but have been sizing them up to 16 at times.

Anytime the wind is blowing and putting chop on the water, a 1/124 oz micro jig continues to put lots of fish in the boat. Alternatively, we've been fishing these without an indicator and stripping them for a change of pace and the fish have been eating well with that presentation too. When stripping jigs, I tend to size up to the 1/80 version and have had the most luck on white and black. Small wolly buggers also work well and I would imagine any small streamer in the 1" range would work.

Check out the store portion of our website for flies, and if you need something you don't see there...don't hesitate to reach out! I can make it happen.
